Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data idata.center collects when you create a free member account, why it is collected, and the rights you have under the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL).
Who is responsible
idata.center is run by Ashraf Almuhtaseb, Saudi Arabia. For any privacy question or request, use the contact page of this website.
What we collect
When you create an account: your name, email address, job title, country and (optional) company.
When you use the account: the articles you save, your reading progress, the files you download, the questions you send, your comments, quiz results and your email preferences.
For security: the date, IP address and browser of each sign-in, kept for 180 days.
We never ask for or store a password. You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email.
Why we use it
To create and secure your account, to give you the member tools you asked for, to answer your questions, to send the emails you chose (sign-in links, and the newsletter only if you ticked it), and to understand in general terms who reads the site (for example how many members are facility engineers). We do not sell your data and we do not show it to advertisers.
Legal basis
Your consent, given when you create the account. You can withdraw it at any time by deleting your account.
Who else handles it
Our hosting provider stores the website and its database. Emails are sent through Resend. If Cloudflare protection is switched on, Cloudflare checks the sign-up form for bots. These providers may process data on servers outside Saudi Arabia, only to provide their service, under their own security commitments.
Professional profile and recruiters (optional)
Filling in a professional profile is optional. If you tick "I am interested in being hired", recruiters approved by idata.center can see an anonymous card: your job designations, country, city, years of experience and certifications, without your name, email or links. When a recruiter asks to contact you, you see their company and message and decide. Only if you accept does that recruiter see your name, email, LinkedIn and resume link. Your resume is never stored on this website: you only give a link to your own storage, and you can change or remove it at any time. Untick the box and your card disappears from recruiter searches at once. We do not sell your data.
Comments and certificates
Comments you post show your name and job title next to them. A quiz certificate shows your name, the quiz and your score to anyone who has its link; certificate pages are hidden from search engines.
How long we keep it
As long as your account exists. Accounts that are never confirmed are removed after 7 days. When you delete your account, your profile, saved articles, reading progress, questions, comments, quiz results, professional profile, contact requests and newsletter subscription are deleted at once. Download counters are kept without your name.
Your rights
You can see and download all your data (Account > Settings > Download my data), correct it (Account > Settings), withdraw consent and delete your account (Account > Delete account), and contact us with any request or complaint.
Security
Sign-in links work once and expire after 15 minutes. Only a scrambled (hashed) copy of each link and each sign-in is stored. All pages use HTTPS. Member files are stored outside the public part of the website.
Changes
If this policy changes in an important way, members are told by email before the change applies.
